Welcome to ScanLiftLog (“ScanLiftLog,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the ScanLiftLog website, application, or any related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Purpose of the Service
ScanLiftLog provides a lightweight tool that allows gym members to scan a QR code on equipment and log workout activity locally on their device. The Service is informational and organizational only. It does not provide medical, fitness, or health advice.
2. No Accounts; Local Storage
ScanLiftLog does not require user accounts. Workout data is stored locally on your device unless you explicitly export or upload it. We do not guarantee that any data will be preserved.
You are solely responsible for:
- Your device and its security
- Your data and backups
- Any loss of data caused by device failure, clearing browser storage, reinstalling a browser, or other causes
3. QR Codes and Third-Party Links
QR codes may be created by gyms, facility owners, or third parties. ScanLiftLog does not control where QR codes are placed or whether they are authentic.
We are not responsible for:
- Fake, altered, or unauthorized QR codes
- Links that impersonate ScanLiftLog
- Any harm caused by scanning codes not issued by us
You assume all risk when scanning a QR code.
4. No Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including availability, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or data persistence.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScanLiftLog shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, device malfunction, business interruption, personal injury, unauthorized access, or third-party misuse.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed $50 USD.
6. Assumption of Risk
You understand and agree that physical activity carries inherent risks. ScanLiftLog does not supervise or control workouts. You are responsible for exercising safely and for obtaining professional advice if needed.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Misrepresent ScanLiftLog or deploy deceptive QR codes using our name
We reserve the right to disable access or take action to protect the Service.
8. Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
